The new era of OODS

As times have changed and old passwords become forgotten, OODS has slowly transitioned into an era of website-free activities. For this reason, the best ways to keep up with our whereabouts and events are through Facebook, Instagram, or our Guild Page.

I have updated the information on this website to be accurate for the 2022/23 academic year (for old times’ sake, but also because someone at the Freshers’ Fair told me to) – but the times of weekly blog posts about the upcoming walks are now behind us.

Magical Mystery Tour 2018

OODS are going on holiday! From Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March we will be going to a mystery location for a weekend break of walks – known as our Magical Mystery Tour. You won’t know where you are going until you get there, so it’s up to your committee to organise a fun-packed weekend. Weekends away with OODS are always great fun – you get to explore a new area outside of Exeter, meet new people and make amazing memories. Although we can’t say too much, this year promises stunning and surprising new walks!

We will be meeting St. David’s Station at 5:10pm on Friday 2nd March, and we expect to be back in Exeter by 10pm on Sunday evening. The total cost of the trip will be £60 for members and £70 for non-members. This covers accommodation, transport to and from the mystery location, and breakfast and lunch (you will need to pay for your evening meals).

There will be 13 spaces on the trip. If you would like to join us, you can either sign up by purchasing a ticket through the Guild website at https://www.exeterguild.org/ents/event/17668/ or at the Guild Information Point in DH1. It will be required that you pay a non-refundable deposit of £30 to reserve your space.

Tickets will be available to purchase any time before Monday 26th February. After you have secured your place on the trip, you can then either pay the rest of the balance (which will be £30 for members and £40 for non-members) on our Guild events page, or at the Guild Information Point in DH1. You must pay the remaining balance by Thursday 1st March.

You will need to bring a little bit of extra cash for any public transport that we use whilst we’re there, and for evening meals (we would recommend bringing around £30), as well as any you want to bring for snacks or souvenirs.

Once the trip has filled up, the tickets section online will state ‘Sales Limit Reached’. In the event that you do not get on the trip, you can email outofdoors@groups.exeterguild.com to be put on a reserves list.

If you have any questions, please do email outofdoors@groups.exeterguild.com.

We hope you will join us for what is always a thoroughly enjoyable weekend away!
